A Message from Kathy Rainwater
I help people by listening to what they want from counseling, incorporating their values and Christian values to determine goals. Solution focused treatment plans are behavioral and specific using cognitive emotional reframing to achieve positive attitudes. Supportive encouraging confidential responses focus on the person’s current and longer term situations. Goals are determined by assessing symptoms and circumstances using Biblical principals. Prayer is included as desired.
I often talk to people about their life’s goals and journey. I am a listening compassionate person that helps to make a difference in feeling better and making better decisions. People and relationships are valuable. I will also help you make a plan to use your time and money better.
Our practice is Rainwater Counseling, consisting of my husband Paul, also LPC, and myself. We have worked together for over 20 years. We went to graduate school together at Georgia State University. We have raised three children together. We have dedicated ourselves to reaching out to hurting people and helping make a difference in their lives.

My name is Paul Rainwater and I’ve been a Licensed Professional Counselor for the last 28 years right here in Madison, Alabama.
Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of helping countless individuals and families navigate life’s challenges. I approach every session with a positive attitude and believe that effective communication is key to building a strong therapeutic relationship.
I’m a good listener, and I’ll work with you to understand your unique situation. I’m skilled at multitasking and problem-solving, which allows me to provide comprehensive care tailored to your needs. My psychotherapy experience is extensive, and I draw on both evidence-based practices and biblical principles to offer guidance that is both professional and compassionate.
